After a hugely successful first run, Hooked on Huayu is back to help viewers gain a greater understanding of the language. And this season, Melissa Hyak sinks her teeth deeper into her role as language explorer!

Melissa will meet with native speakers of mandarin from mainland China, as well as ethnic Chinese from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau to continue her linguistic and cultural journey on an even deeper level. Every week, she explores the provincial differences of the language, the nuances and the layered meanings, as well as the roots of old sayings and newly-coined phrases with these profiles, as they engage in cultural and newly-popular activities in an interactive and fun manner.

To push the boundaries even further, the format of BlogTV.sg has taken a bold turn, with a definite focus on the ONLINE experience. The entire 45-minute discussion will be brought to the viewer LIVE on the WEB, with 30 minutes of the discussion aired on TV to engage the TV viewer.

The programme will be hosted by the Flying Dutchman (FD), Georgina Chang and Phin Wong.
